      Why did you join PageGroup?
The people, the career progression opportunities and the multi-faceted role that was well aligned to my skill-set. Plus, the opportunity to help others build and grow their own careers.

Describe your PageGroup career so far
There are early challenges as you learn to ply your trade and build up your network, but it is very rewarding when things begin to fall in to place. Celebrating success is a key part of Michael Page and you celebrate more and more the longer you operate. I have been promoted to a Senior Consultant and hopefully that next step to Manager is not far away.

How do you spend your time at work?
There are a lot of different aspects to the role whether it is the management of relationships with both clients and candidates, spending time sourcing and matching individuals to respective opportunities or the business development side of meeting and growing partnerships with new businesses.

What advice do you have to others who want to join PageGroup?
Work hard, play hard and do the groundwork to set yourself up for success. Future opportunities will then present themselves to progress your career within PageGroup.

      Caitlin Menzies

      Why did you join PageGroup?
It was important for me to start my professional career with a strong company that encouraged growth and development. I didn’t know too much about recruitment but knew some people in the industry. I was drawn to the culture and the passion that they exuded when talking about their work. I came across Michael Page advertising for a consultant. After doing some research on the brand and meeting and interviewing with the managers I knew the PageGroup had the right culture and encouragement that I was looking for. As for the role itself, I liked the idea of a balance of face-to-face work and autonomous work at your desk.

Describe your PageGroup career so far
My time at PageGroup has gone by so fast and, looking back to when I started, I cannot believe how much I have already learnt. I have been encouraged and pushed to go above and beyond what I thought capable by some very patient and talented mentors. While recruitment can be an emotional rollercoaster ride, that’s what makes it exciting. You never know what a day is going to throw at you but no matter what you get you know that you have some awesome people working with you who have got your back. There have been no limits on my progression at PageGroup., I am given all the tools I need to succeed my brand is in my own hands.

How do you spend your time at work?
There is a nice balance to how I spend my time at PageGroup. You always have something to  do, whether you are out developing a relationship with a client, sourcing for roles, interviewing candidates, or working on L&D sessions your manager, you are always doing something that is worthwhile.

What advice do you have to others who want to join PageGroup?
PageGroup is a fantastic company to build a career with. If you are looking for a long-term career with constant growth and potential this is the place to do it. You are constantly learning ever-valuable skills alongside the top talent in the industry.

    • Cameron King

      Cameron King

      Why did you join PageGroup?
I joined PageGroup because it is a very successful, professional multinational recruitment consultancy that provides continued training and development throughout your career, offers genuine career progression opportunities nationally as well as globally and puts a big focus on company culture by making it a fun place to work.

Describe your PageGroup career so far
I started with PageGroup in November 2011 as a Consultant in the Sales & Marketing team specializing in FMCG sales. I was promoted in June 2014 to Senior Consultant and am currently completing the NZ Management Academy training program with my next step being a management position responsible for a team. Along the way I have built a strong network in the FMCG market, successfully helped businesses attract people to their company as well as provide career opportunities for candidates. Company and team activities, social, sporting and charity events have been a constant throughout my career.

How do you spend your time at work?
No one day is the same at PageGroup, which is what I like about my job. It’s a very fast-paced environment where you are constantly on the phone, interviewing candidates, out in front of clients getting to know their business while celebrating success with both candidates and clients at some of Auckland finest restaurants.

What advice do you have to others who want to join PageGroup?
Live and breathe the company values (take pride, be passionate, never give up, work as a team and make it fun), get involved in everything, work hard and you will be rewarded. The opportunities are endless.

  • Manager
    • Kipp O'Donnell

      Kipp O'Donnell

      Why did you join PageGroup?
For me it was about the people and the connection I made with those who interviewed me. They spoke honestly about the role and the business, and made me feel like I would be a valued member of the team if I decided to join.

Describe your PageGroup career so far
I started as a consultant working within the Sales & Marketing team. I had a mix of existing clients and clients that I had to identify and develop. I grew and developed a portfolio and was promoted after two and a half years to manage the Sales & Marketing team. I have managed the team since May 2013 and we have experienced good growth and progress across that time period.

How do you spend your time at work?
Managing my time between my own clients and candidate development, as well as working with my team to enable their revenue generation and personal growth. It is a role that requires much multi-tasking and knowing when/what to prioritise.

What advice do you have to others who want to join PageGroup?
When joining Michael Page you need to ensure you are thinking about a career rather than a job for right now. It is a great business for someone who wants to make some money, grow their career and have fun doing all that with like-minded individuals!

    • Vanesha Din

      Vanesha Din

      Why did you join PageGroup?
I joined Michael Page when the New Zealand office launched. From my very first meeting, I was impressed with PageGroup’s strategy and approach to the recruitment market as well as the team-orientated environment and strong values. I was joining at an exciting time for Michael Page and I was confident the move would provide opportunities that aligned to my career goals.

Describe your PageGroup career so far
I started as a Consultant, then progressed to a Senior Consultant and now manage the Accounting, Finance & Office support team. The role has been extremely rewarding both professionally and on a personal level. I have been challenged, stretched and gained leadership skills on the job and through the learning and development provided by PageGroup.

How do you spend your time at work?
No day is the same! The core functions include developing networks, meeting with clients and building relationships through to interviewing candidates, shortlisting and managing offers. I also support the team and individual consultants to achieve their objectives and develop their careers with PageGroup.

What advice do you have to others who want to join PageGroup?

PageGroup offers a great opportunity for someone who is willing to work hard and is career-focused. As we are a meritocracy, you have control of the outcome and will be recognised and rewarded for your achievements.

Look Good Feel Better

Look Good Feel Better

Look Good Feel Better is the only worldwide cancer support charity, providing free, practical support to women undergoing treatment for cancer. They help restore and enhance the appearance of cancer patients dealing with the side effects of cancer treatment.

Look Good Feel Better aims to put a smile on the face of every woman with cancer, and are there with support, guidance and free classes at a difficult time in their lives when they need it most. At Look Good Feel Better they understand that the way we look on the outside can have a powerful influence on how we feel on the inside. With makeup, skincare, skills and a positive attitude, they transform the look and the outlook of over 3,000 New Zealand women with cancer every year.

To get involved, PageGroup employees raised money in the lead up to the Auckland Marathon with all proceeds going to the charity.

Cure Kids

Cure Kids

Cure Kids purpose is simple: every single day, their researchers are driven to find the cures for life-threatening illnesses that affect many children. They focus on raising funds so that vital medical research can continue until researchers find the cures kids need. Put simply, they fund the cures, they find the cures.

By taking part in the 2015 Tough Guy and Gal Challenge, PageGroup employees were able to raise money with all donations going to Cure Kids.

International transfers

View the profiles of some of our international transfers to find out why our global presence makes us a great company to work for.
David Slater UK - Canada

I joined Michael Page Sales in 2006 as a consultant. Interestingly I didn't join (as many do) with the intentions of working internationally... it's funny how things pan out when the right opportunity presents itself.

Last year I had an internal discussion about the growth potential and the obstacles to overcome in our Canadian business. I'm now director of Michael Page Sales, Marketing and Technology in Toronto. It's still early days with plenty to accomplish but I already feel that I've learned so much. I'm excited about what lies ahead and it's clear that it was the 'right time', despite me not knowing it only a few months ago!

Alena Salakhova Russia - USA

One of the reasons I joined PageGroup in 2009 was the opportunity to gain international experience. After five years I knew I could stay or challenge myself somewhere new.

I am still a very young director and people in Russia consider my relocation to San Francisco Bay Area (the most developed area for new business development and start ups and an incredible place to live) as amazing.

The one thing I would say if you want to progress your career internationally – don’t be afraid to chase for it and make your dreams come true.

Denis Daniliuc France - Mexico

I joined in France as a consultant and progressed to manager level before applying for an international move and I was given the opportunity to move to New York. Heading back to Europe, I joined our office in Brussels to take over various disciplines in Belgium. After a few years, good results and a baby, I moved to Mexico City to grow our operations in this dynamic country.

I enjoy the nice weather and amazing weekend trips this beautiful country offers. If you want to develop professionally and enjoy a strong international network, PageGroup is definitely the place to be!

Aaron Bambrick Australia - Canada

I started at PageGroup on the graduate programme in 2008 and before transferring to Houston I recruited in the mining, oil and gas sectors in Brisbane. Transferring internationally can do a lot for your career but it’s also a big challenge.

Having worked in both the Australian and US oil and gas markets I have now transferred to Calgary to help open the office here and establish a local presence for Michael Page in Western Canada. Calgary is a beautiful city only an hour from the Rocky Mountains and the market is similar to that of Australia in a lot of aspects. Calgary presents a significant opportunity for Michael Page and gives us an integrated North American oil and gas team.

Jamie Hart UK - Sweden

I joined Michael Page in 2000 in London and in 2014 it felt the right time to explore international opportunities.

Learning something new about yourself and other people, learning new ways of recruiting in different markets has always been the main driver behind my attachment to PageGroup. Moving to Sweden has taken this to a whole new level.

The trust placed in you when you move abroad is inspiring, realising how much there is to learn gives you extra energy and living in a different environment positively challenges you professionally and personally. Now I won’t look back when I am old and wonder ‘if only’...

Marco Cremonese Italy - Germany

I started in Page Personnel Milan in 2009 as a trainee and became a senior consultant in the Retail division in 2010. In 2012 I took over the Digital & New Media specialisation and in October 2013 I became a manager.

I was happy in Milan but I wanted to experience meeting new people and working in a new division. I also wanted to develop personally.

I now work for Michael Page Finance & Accounting in Munich – of course it is a hard challenge and a new start, but it is a wonderful experience. I´m happy about the opportunity that PageGroup gave me.

Giovanni Presti Italy - Turkey

I was one of the top performers in Europe and won a trip to Istanbul. I didn’t know then but a year later the company, in response to my desire for international experience, was going to propose Turkey as my next chance to develop.

I am growing a new team in Istanbul, a wonderful city in a country where the culture is different from Italy but where there is a lot of energy in people and life. With PageGroup there are opportunities to learn about new cultures and live the experience.

Katherine Karlsen UK - South Africa

South Africa is very different from the UK, there are certain aspects of employment policy I had to overcome, but I find this makes it more exciting and it gave me a challenge. Johannesburg is known as the 'City of Gold' – as the gateway to Africa it provides you with further exposure to an emerging market. It really is an exciting place to recruit.

There is a great atmosphere in the office. The teams are motivated, passionate and diverse. There is a true sense of PageGroup culture here, with the added twist of South Africa.

Tamara Boonstra Netherlands - Indonesia

I was interested in the idea of international opportunities within the Group so started applying for a transfer. News came that the business was being launched in Jakarta, so I applied, got the job and moved here in January.

The best bit about moving is that it has taken me completely out of my comfort zone. I’m learning about a new culture and how to adapt in all sorts of situations – personally and professionally. Moving is definitely worthwhile. It has opened my mind and my eyes and given me space to explore and develop.

Simone Turola Italy - China

China is very different to Europe and the initial impact can be strong. It is important to have an open mind and see things with interest, curiosity and a sense of humour. Everyday can be a surprise, from the food to a new word that helps you in daily life to a new place to visit or a new person to meet.

I don’t know how many other companies can offer this level and variety of international opportunities; it’s a chance to build your future success. My only regret is that I should have done this earlier!
